Broadband DC Power Solutions

Reliable, intelligent DC power supplies, modular rectifiers, and Ethernet remote monitoring for high-uptime broadband networks.

Industry-Grade Power Uptime

High-Availability DC Power for Next-Generation Broadband Networks

In modern telecommunications, broadband connectivity is vital economic infrastructure for healthcare, remote work, public safety, and smart cities. Unplanned power outages result in costly site visits, lost subscriber revenue, and SLA penalties.

Since 1986, Innovative Circuit Technology (ICT) has engineered specialized DC power conversion, distribution systems, and battery backup solutions in North America. Designed specifically for critical communication nodes, our platforms guarantee maximum system availability while empowering network operations centers (NOCs) with real-time Ethernet control.

  • Continuous Uptime Architecture: Support for 12VDC, 24VDC, and 48VDC buses with N+1 hot-swappable modular redundancy.
  • Intelligent Remote Management: HTML interface and SNMP v1/v2c/v3 telemetry for real-time remote power cycling and monitoring.
  • Advanced Battery Protection: Low-voltage disconnect (LVD), thermal compensation charging, and battery state-of-health monitoring.
  • North American Engineering: Rigorous quality assurance meeting strict global telecom reliability standards.

DC Power Solutions Across Broadband Sectors

Whether powering remote mountain towers, enterprise private wireless networks, or municipal fiber huts, ICT delivers optimized power architectures built for harsh outdoor environments.

Fixed Wireless Broadband (WISP)

Fixed wireless backhaul networks deliver high-speed connectivity to rural and suburban markets. ICT provides dual-bus DC power distribution panels, high-efficiency rectifiers, and remote load-shedding features to ensure microwave links, point-to-point (PtP), and point-to-multipoint (PtMP) radios remain powered 24/7/365.

Mobile Cellular & RAN Networks

Radio Access Networks (RAN) process critical cellular communications. ICT supplies intelligent 48VDC power solutions to keep Remote Radio Heads (RRH), Base Transceiver Stations (BTS), Base Station Controllers (BSC), and massive MIMO antennas functioning through utility grid failures.

Private LTE, 4G & 5G Networks

Industrial IoT (IIoT), manufacturing automation, and logistics sites rely on private wireless networks for low-latency operation. ICT rack-mount and DIN-rail power systems supply clean, isolated DC power to on-site radio equipment, access points, and edge processing cabinets.

Fiber Optic Networks (FTTH / PON)

Passive Optical Networks (PON) and Gigabit PON (GPON) central offices and fiber huts utilize Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) to route data. ICT battery chargers, backup power systems, and distribution panels guard fiber nodes against unexpected outages.

Technical FAQ

Broadband DC Power Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to technical questions frequently raised by RF engineers, network architects, and procurement managers.

48VDC (typically float-charged at 54.4VDC) provides an optimal safety-voltage profile (below 60VDC SELV threshold) while significantly reducing current draw and line-loss copper resistance compared to 12VDC or 24VDC systems. This allows longer cable runs to tower-mounted radios (RRH) without excessive voltage drop.
ICT Intelligent DC systems include built-in web servers and SNMP management interface cards. Network operators can remotely read bus voltage, individual circuit current draw, and temperature metrics. Crucially, operators can remotely power-cycle individual distribution outputs to reboot frozen radios or routers, eliminating costly technician dispatches ("truck rolls").
Hot-swappable modular rectifiers allow live system servicing without interrupting power to active network loads. Adding extra rectifier modules enables true N+1 redundancy—if one module experiences an internal fault, the remaining modules immediately absorb the load without system downtime or voltage dips.
During an extended utility grid failure, batteries will supply continuous power until depleted. Deep discharge below recommended thresholds permanently damages battery chemistry. An integrated LVD automatically disconnects non-critical loads or cuts off the battery string at a pre-set voltage cutoff point, preventing irreversible battery degradation.
